This brand has taken social media by storm and now has the biggest waiting list, here is a closer look at the Bottega Veneta Trend.
We prayed for God to bring back Phoebe Philo for Céline, and he did. But in Bottega Veneta.
Creative Director Daniel Lee, Céline alum, was appointed Bottega Veneta’s new creative director last June. In just under a year, Daniel Lee has turned this Italian classic brand into the name every fashion buyer is talking about, which of course translates into sales and demand. It is almost impossible to now track down a pouch bag or a pair of the square-toe mules.
According to global fashion search engine Lyst, searches for Bottega Veneta are up 71% quarter on quarter, with the bags and sandals being the leading category. Net-a-Porter’s global buying director, Elizabeth von der Goltz, has called out this brand as a key powerhouse for the season leading the trend for a more grown-up, polished way of dressing. MyTheresa’s fashion buying director Tiffany Hsu (handinfire on instagram) wrote that the retailer may as well rename its key buying week “Bottega week.” . Rosie Hungtinton Whiteley has named the Bottega Veneta square toe mule the ultimate summer essential, and is seen rocking rocking Bottega pieces almost every week. There’s even an instagram account dedicated to Lee’s aesthetic for Bottega Veneta with over 53,000 followers.

A Closer Look At Bottega Veneta Trend
Square toe sandals, strappy heels with a twist, ruched pouch bags, mesh sandals, and many more, this brand has taken social media by storm, and with the constant publicity by fashion editors, social media influencers and fashion bloggers, Bottega Veneta sales have skyrocket like never before. After Old Céline, it seems like this is the brand to turn to for classic elevated, minimal pieces with an unexpected edge.

A few looks from the Bottega Veneta Pre Fall 2019 & Resort 2020 collection.
Currently unboxing my own pair of Bottega Veneta mule sandals… the smell of fresh leather out of a box is always so ecstatic to me. My first impressions of this mule: its beautiful, no doubt. The square sole is so flattering on the feet. You’d need to have had a pedicure to wear these though, that’s the thing with open toe shoes. The heel is perfect, and I particularly like the bottom of the shoe, its got grip, which is good, Bottega Veneta were probably crossing out reasons why anyone would fall in these, and the slippery excuse is out of question. One thing I would say though is that it isn’t really made for wide foot individuals like myself, however it is real leather, so I am going to grab my thick socks, my blow dryer, and expand these shoes a little bit until they fit. (The heat trick.)
These shoes were totally meant to be and I shall make them work.
The things we do for fashion, right?
