Let’s talk Cartier Panthère vs Baignoire. I own both, so this is coming from my actual honest experience, as someone who has both watches & has worn them in real life conditions.

I bought the Cartier Panthère first (the small size, two tone) at the start of 2025, after hitting a milestone. I was obsessed. It felt like silk on my wrist, I wore it every day, and I honestly thought I was done.

Fast forward a few months, I walked back into Cartier, had a few too many glasses of Champagne, and walked out with the Cartier Baignoire in yellow gold with diamonds on a green alligator strap.
So now I can really compare them side by side for you.
First Impressions: Cartier Panthère Vs Baignoire
Cartier Panthère: This is the watch that feels like jewelry. The bracelet is buttery and fluid, and the mini size is so light I actually forget I’m wearing it. It’s chic, everyday, and subtle.
Baignoire: The elongated oval shape is instantly more dramatic, especially with the diamond bezel and green strap. When I tried it on, I literally jaw-dropped. It’s more of a statement piece, less of an everyday throw-on.
Which One’s More Comfortable, Cartier Panthère Vs Baignoire?
The Cartier Panthère hands down the most comfortable. The bracelet moves like fabric and it never digs into my skin. Perfect for typing, errands, or just wearing all day without thinking about it. The Cartier Baignoire has a leather strap, which although it’s light, it hugs the wrist so it squeezes your wrist a bit.
Because mine has diamonds, I baby it a little more. I wouldn’t wear this one to run errands, it’s more of an “event” watch, or for a special occasion.
Styling & Curating A Wrist Stack
This is where they really separate.
Panthère: I wear it every day with my small Cartier Love bracelet and Juste un Clou. If I want to switch it up, I add Clash. It just melts into a stack like it was made for layering.

Baignoire: She’s the star of the show. For a night out, I wear it with a tennis bracelet and my diamond Love bracelet. Or if I’m feeling soft and romantic, I pair it with my Van Cleef Alhambra. For art events like Frieze, I’ll throw on a sculptural cuff and chunky ring to play up the artsy vibe.

Price & Value
When I bought them:
- The Cartier Panthère small two tone was £8,000.
- The Cartier Baignoire with diamonds on the green alligator strap was £17,800.
The classic Baignoire with the gold bangle is £13,200 – also highly sought after.
Both hold value well if you keep the box and papers. The Panthère is easier to resell because it’s more of a universal classic. The Baignoire is more niche, but right now it’s having a big moment.

Availability of Cartier Watches
Panthère: Easy to try in store, lots of sizes and metals. They’ll size the bracelet on the spot.
Baignoire: The gold bangle version is more available. My strap version (green alligator with diamonds) is boutique-only and harder to get. My SA had to bring it out from the back.

So Which One Do I Recommend?
If you’re looking for your first Cartier watch, I’d go with the Panthère. It’s the one you’ll get the most use out of—it literally goes with everything.
If you already own a Panthère or another everyday piece, then the Baignoire is the perfect second watch. It’s romantic, dramatic, and feels special every time I wear it.
For me, Cartier Panthère vs Baignoire isn’t about which one is better. It’s about mood. The Panthère is my everyday quiet luxury. The Baignoire is my “let’s make an entrance” moment.
